This recipe is a quick-to-impress hot appetizer that is full of flavor and easy to prepare. You can use plain curry powder or add an extra punch of flavor by including a teaspoon of lemongrass or saffron. The intensely bright color of this dish matches the bold flavor, but if you’re not a fan of shellfish you can substitute chopped chicken for the crab. Serve it with Fritos, toasted French bread or veggies.
Shopping List
- 1 6-oz. container lump crab meat
- 1 8-oz. package of cream cheese
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 3 Tablespoons curry powder
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
Recipe
Place a non-stick pot over medium heat and add the crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, curry powder and lemon juice.
Stir the mixture constantly until the cream cheese melts.
Serve the hot dip with Fritos, sliced French bread or veggies.
Helpful hint: The dip is best when served warm, so place the dish over a warming plate or serve it in a fondue pot.
